Catch-Up TV

Signing in to receive Catch-Up & On-Demand services on your Smart TV

When using catch-up or on-demand services on your Smart TV, for the first time, it is necessary to create an account on-line with the provider of that service. This involves visiting the relevant website and creating a user name and password (assuming you don’t already have one). You will then be able to use the required service. Some services are free, others are subscription based.

Here are links to the most popular services explaining the necessary procedure:

  1. Open the BBC iPlayer app on your TV.
  2. Select “Sign in”. You can find this in Settings or by selecting the “Sign in” icon in the menu.
  3. You’ll see a page with some instructions and an eight-character code.
  4. Now, on your phone, tablet or computer, visit www.bbc.com/account/tv
  5. If you’re not already signed in on your phone, tablet or computer, you’ll be asked to sign in to your BBC account. Don’t have a BBC account yet? Hit “Register” instead of “Sign in”.
  6. Once you’re signed in on your phone, tablet or computer, you’ll be asked to enter the eight-character code that’s showing on your TV.
  7. Enter the eight-character code shown on your TV, then hit “Confirm” and wait a few moments for your TV to refresh. This will only take about 10 seconds.
